How to Watch Netflix in Malaysia

Even though Netflix is not available in Malaysia you can still access the US version by using a little quick trick.

Netflix will determine your location by looking up your IP address. An IP address is a unique number that you inherit from your Internet Provider when going online. This number is a dead give away of your location and since Netflix can see you are located in Malaysia.

Fake Your Location to Watch Netflix in Malaysia

So what you need to do is fake your location so Netflix thinks that you are located in the US. You can do this by connecting to a Virtual Private Network also known as VPN. This will allow you to send all data via a server located in the US. This server will act as a middleman between you and Netflix and then you will be allowed to both sign up and stream Netflix all while being located in Malaysia.

Setting up VPN to Watch Netflix

I tried getting this to work with a range of different VPN providers and the best one was WishVPN . The streaming quality was the best I have seen and besides they have made a small app for both Mac and PC that make setting up a VPN connection really easy. Simply install the app and select where in the US you want to hide and then click connect. That is all there is to it really.
You can use the manual settings from WishVPN for your iPad, iPhone and Android device as well. Just remember that you need to have the Netflix app installed on your device first. On an IOS device you need access to the US iTunes store. If you do not have an American credit card you can gain access by on itunes or ebay and then redeem it.

    Thanks for the article Andrew. I don’t see Netflix coming to Malaysia anytime soon. However, there are plenty of workarounds available to access it here in Malaysia. Personally, I use UnoTelly for more than a year and I can access Netflix like I am in US.

    To watch Netflix in Malaysia, you need a tool that changes your virtual location. There are two ways through which you can achieve this and watch Netflix in Malaysia.
    - Use a VPN Service
    - Use a Smart DNS Service
